Ski and Ride for a Cure Announces Nationwide Virtual Event benefiting Cancer Research and Care Organizations

Despite the disruption of the Covid-19 pandemic, cancer hasn’t stopped impacting the lives of millions of people diagnosed with cancer each year. Neither will we.

This winter, Ski and Ride for a Cure has gone virtual, but we remain committed to continuing our mission of supporting cancer research and care organizations in the fight against cancer through inclusive outdoor fundraising activities.

About the Event

The 2021 Ski and Ride for a Cure Nationwide Virtual Event spans the months of February and March to enable Teams and Individuals to participate from the safety of their home mountain. Each week during the event, participants are invited to compete in the Vertical Competition for the most vertical feet skied, Fundraising Challenge for most dollars raised, and submit photos to our Weekly Photo Contest.

At our virtual Closing Celebration and Award Ceremony on Saturday, April 10th, we’ll honor loves ones, celebrate survivors, recognize our sponsors and cancer-fighting organizations, and award the top teams and individuals in the vertical and fundraising challenges.

Making a Difference

“All of us have been directly or indirectly affected by cancer.  Our mission allows skiers and boarders to participate in an event that raises funds that support important cancer research, patient care, and patient services”.

– Dave Ludwig, Ski and Ride for a Cure President

Event proceeds benefit the following organizations selected by our all-volunteer team on the basis of financial health, accountability, and transparency: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Fred Hutch, Breast Cancer Research Foundation, American Cancer Society, and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. We recognize that there are so many other great organizations that we haven’t included – teams wishing to direct their donations to another charity can do so by contacting us after creating their team.
